Shri. I I George, IES, Additional Director General (Rtd), Prasar Bharati is an Indian Broadcasting Engineering Service officer from 86 batch. A graduate in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, he has MBA in HR. He has 40 years of wide-ranging experience in broadcast technology, radar engineering and navigational aids and mining electronics.

He was responsible for the expansion of radio services in the east and northeast part of the country during 88-99. During this period, he planned and installed number of Radio and TV transmitters in the east and northeastern part of the country. Later, he joined as a faculty in the training institute of All India Radio and Doordarshan, where he conducted number of national and international training programs. He also served as head of AIR stations. Further he served at the Telecom cell of All India Radio. He had received Akashvani awards for technical excellence.

He went abroad and received training at Harris, USA , NEC, Japan, and at RIZ, Croatia. He had presented number technical papers in international and National seminars conducted by Asia Pacific Broadcast Union, Kula Lumpur, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Delhi and Broadcast Engineering Society, India. He also presented a paper on trending Broadcast technologies at Asia Media Summit at Qingdao, China. His area of interest and specialization is digital radio broadcasting. He is a Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, India and Past President of Broadcast Engineers Society (India). He served as the Head of National academy of broadcasting and Multimedia, Delhi as Additional director General from 2013 to 2018 and retired from Prasar Bharati. He also served as Sr. Consultant in Broadcast Engineering Consultant India Ltd., BECIL, New Delhi after retiring from Prasar Bharati.
