Prof. Sathya Prakash Elavarthi teaches Media Economics & Management, Film Theory & Criticism and Documentary Theory at the Department of Communication, Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication, University of Hyderabad. He is a recipient of Fulbright Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship (2021-22). He recently co-authored (along with Sunitha Chitrapu), Media Economics and Management (a text book for Routeldge India, 2022). His research interests include Film Studies, Media Industries, Digital Cultures, and Media History. He currently has an active cohort of five doctoral students working on these areas under his supervision.
